I met Jeff when he started teaching at Northampton Community College many years ago. As a perpetual student at NCC since 1997, I’ve had several classes with Jeff, and we became friends. I admired Jeff for being a truly exceptional potter and great teacher. He put a lot of work into all of his pieces but made it all look effortless and elegant. As a teacher, he was readily willing to show us his techniques and to guide us. He was very humble with everyone even though he was a nationally recognized ceramic artist. He always made me smile when he used the term “pedestrian” when describing a ceramic piece. Throughout the years, my children's favorite gifts were some of Jeff’s work. I will miss him.
