When I first met Jeff, he and my sister, Susan Arruda, were in grad school in St. Loius. I went out to visit her and had the pleasure of meeting Jeff. Upon introduction with Jeff sitting at his wheel, I remember saying, “He has great hands.” I was absolutely transfixed as I watched him work on his piece. What followed were years of sharing great times, laughing at his sharp wit, and watching as he connected with my children. Dylan and Haley adored him and he came to be known as Jiffy Pop. For those of you who knew Jeff, he was no “jiffy!” - but that name soon came to be shortened to Jiff, and that is where it remained in my head and in my heart. He often bantered back and forth with Dylan, and allowed Haley to decorate him with costume jewelry and put on shows for him, all of which he endured with great pleasure.
While most of you have stories to share of his professional talent, my thoughts go back to a man who brought humor and light into our lives. The world has lost a great man. Rest In Peace Jiffy Pop.
